I have a2p installed on six sites and have the auctions set to be deleted after they expire (happens automatically via the plugin). Then in the member forum there is code to show relevant auctions on a 404 page - which is great. So the page is indexed until the next crawl from google (which can take a while) and now the 404 page is showing any traffic in that time targeted auctions. I have thousands of pages indexed in just over a month.

Sounds nice to convert auctions into posts but one thing comes to mind, the post is useless after the auction is over right?

Glad to see you posting again!

I tried out A2P when it was in Beta, and I think the potential is huge. I have some big plans for some combo phpbay/A2P sites very soon. Just need to finish what I've already got on my plate at the moment.

Thanks for the heads-up. I always open your emails.

Now I hope my eBay arsenal is complete.

Auction2post looks awesome.

I also just picked up Build-a-blog-store, which looks like it will be good with quite a bit of customizing.

I am still making a little with my BANS sites and I want to use phpBay in conjunction with Caffeinated Content, which I am loving.

Thyere has only been one post here this year. It implies that this mess is better now. Is that really the case?

Fron a post I made in another forum:
As only one of the millions laid off recently, I have been researching online ways to earn some income. I don't expect to make a full-time living, but want to supplement the considerably lower income that I have been forced to accept. I will be retiring in three years, so I would also like to be able to be able to work toward a retirement supplement also.

But, in my research, I have seen many disturbing blogs and posts that warn about EPN's new policies concerning affiliates. Dismissal letters with no explanations - seemingly unrelated to performance sometimes, etc. Since ANY new affiliate will be underperforming - at least for the first few months - I now wonder if the expense in both dollars and time will just wind up being in vain. I have no intentions of using "black hat" techniques - even if I knew how to.

I have looked into niche systems like PHPbay and BANS, and they would seem to be the easiest to start with, at least. In my experience (in other venues), the crooks (i.e. "black hats") will always poison the efforts of the honest people. They have no feeling of remorse for hurting the reputable business person. They will simply open new accounts, and start over with the same techniques.

So, if the honest affiliates are going to be booted because of the dishonest tactics of the black hats, then I wonder if this enterprise is for me. Most of the posts that bothered me were back in mid-2008.

So, my question is:
Has the mess over the ousting of affiliates died down, and become less of an issue? Does just using PHPbay of BANS immediately cause a red flag at EPN?

Any help would be appreciated, as I simply cannot throw time and money at a system that will inevitibly boot me.

Thanks,
Ron
